A NOIP’s delegation visited the Korean Intellectual Property Office

From 25-29 August 2008, a NOIP’s delegation headed by Director General Tran Viet Hung visited Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and some relevant agencies of the Republic of Korea.

 

From 25-29 August 2008, a NOIP’s delegation headed by Director General Tran Viet Hung visited Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and some relevant agencies of the Republic of Korea.

During the time in the Republic of Korea, the delegation was introduced by KIPO experts about the IP system of the Republic of Korea as well as professional activities of KIPO, especially in areas of Vietnam’s interest, accordingly studying experience to apply in Vietnamese practice. In addition, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Kwanhee Yoo, Director General of the Korean International Intellectual Property Training Institute.
During the visit, on 28 August 2008, Director General Tran Viet Hung had a meeting with Mr. Jung-Sik Koh, Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office. At the meeting, the two sides updated to each other with latest developments of the intellectual property systems and the economies of the two countries. Commissioner Jung-Sik Koh highly appreciated progresses and achievements that Viet Nam had gained in the field of intellectual property and expressed his confidence in the fast and steady development of Viet Nam in the future. With Vietnam’s endeavors in the field of intellectual property, Korean enterprises will be confident in making decision to invest and trade in Viet Nam. On his part, Director General Tran Viet Hung also expressed his admiration about the development of the IP system of the Republic of Korea and wished to study a lot of experience in the development of a modern and effective IP system.

The two sides agreed to strengthen the cooperation in areas of training, automation and IPRs enforcement, contributing to the exploitation and practicalizing the cooperation potentials of the two countries in the fields of trade and investment. Over the past years, the total capital of direct investment of the Republic of Korea to Viet Nam had been sharply increasing, which required the closer and more effective cooperation between the two IP offices.

On this occasion, Director General Tran Viet Hung invited Commissioner Jung-Sik Koh to visit Viet Nam in the most convenient time. Commissioner Jung-Sik Koh was glad to accept the invitation and took the visit as a priority activity in his working plan.
