On 07 November 2015, in Vientiane capital of Laos, H.E. Deputy Minister of Science and Technology and Director General of NOIP, Mr. Tran Viet Thanh and Director General of DIP Khanlasy Keobounphanh signed the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of Intellectual Property between NOIP and DIP (MOC). The signing ceremony was witnessed by H.E. Minister of Science and Technology of Viet Nam, Mr. Nguyen Quan, H.E. Minister of Science and Technology of Lao PDR, Mr. Boviengkham Vongdala, H.E. Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of Lao PDR, Mr. Sakkhone Chaluenvong and Mr. Hoang Xuan Hai, Deputy President of Viet Nam - Lao Cooperation Committee as well as many representatives from relevant Departments of the two Ministries.

The said MOC was signed with a view to strengthening IP systems in Viet Nam and Laos by consolidating cooperation between NOIP and DIP in areas of IP administration, IP Offices’ operation, IP public awareness and capacity building. The MOC will lay the ground for the establishment and implementation of cooperative activities in coming future.
