President of the Standing Committee of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan visited NOIP

On 30 July 2008, Mr. Junji HIGASHI, President of the Standing Committee of Economy, Trade and Industry of the House of Congress of Japan and some officials of METI, Embassy of Japan and JICA visited the NOIP. NOIP’s DG Tran Viet Hung and some heads of divisions received the Japanese delegation in a cordial and respectful manner. DG Tran Viet Hung was glad to receive the delegation and informed of recent developments of the IP system of Viet Nam, results of the cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan in the field of intellectual property and highly appreciated the automotive application management system assisted by the Japanese Government.

On 30 July 2008, Mr. Junji HIGASHI, President of the Standing Committee of Economy, Trade and Industry of the House of Congress of Japan and some officials of METI, Embassy of Japan and JICA visited the NOIP. DG Tran Viet Hung was glad to receive the delegation and informed of recent developments of the IP system of Viet Nam, results of the cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan in the field of intellectual property and highly appreciated the automotive application management system assisted by the Japanese Government.

President Junji HIGASHI asked some questions relating to IPRs enforcement in Viet Nam, the enforcement of anti-counterfeit goods policies and relevant measures. Answering those questions, DG Tran Viet Hung informed the delegation of efforts to prevent and step by step weaken the situation of counterfeit and faked goods by the Vietnamese Government, including strengthening dissemination of legislation, applying serious penalties on infringement behaviors, improving the cooperation among IP enforcement and administration agencies. The delegation had a look at the IPAS system and IP SEA system, outputs of the technical assistance rendered to the NOIP by Japanese Government.
