With the new Regulation, the Intellectual Property Office of Viet Nam (IP Viet Nam) is entrusted with additional tasks and powers to further enhance its role in assisting the Minister of Science and Technology in the unified state management of intellectual property, as well as to improve the effectiveness of its public service activities in the field of industrial property in accordance with the law.
In the coming time, IP Viet Nam will implement several important new functions and duties, including: exercising state management over innovation activities; performing specialized inspection in the field of industrial property; and managing and developing the network of intellectual property consultants, among others.
According to Decision No. 156/QD-BKHCN, the organizational structure of IP Viet Nam continues to be adjusted in compliance with current regulations on the organization and operation of state management agencies. The structure ensures a clear separation between state management and public service functions, as well as between administrative and operational units, in order to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, accelerate the progress and quality of public service activities, and ensure a streamlined, smoothly operating, and efficient organizational apparatus.
This Decision takes effect from March 3, 2025.
