On 29 July 2011, in Hanoi, the National Office of Intellectual Property of Viet Nam (NOIP) held a cordial Meeting on the occasion of the 29th anniversary celebration of NOIP (29 July 1982- 29 July 2011) and received the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit. Attending the Meeting, there were H.E. Nguyen Quan, the First Deputy Minister, member of Party Central Committee, representatives from agencies of Ministry of Science and Technology, leaders of NOIP over the periods since its establishment, representatives from the Vietnam Intellectual Property Association, the Vietnam Intellectual Property Research Institute, industrial property agencies and all NOIP’s staff who are working for or have retired.
Director General Tran Viet Hung made a brief report on the growth and development of NOIP from its establishment until now, especially in the context of extensive and deep international integration nowadays. Established as a small office in charge of the inventions and technical innovation, at the begining NOIP was little known both inside and outside the country. Spent nearly three decades of growth and development so far, NOIP has become a national intellectual property agency which has actively contributed to the development of science, technology and economy of the country, become a prestigious agency and cooperated widely with other national intellectual property offices and international organizations in the field of intellectual property.
The achievements of NOIP in recent years have been acknowledged by the Party, the Government and the Ministry of Science and Technology, with the four Labour Medals, two Government's Emulation Flags, three Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister and with other Certificates of Merit and the Title of Emulation of the Ministry of Science and Technology conferred.
On this occasion, NOIP had the honour to receive the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in the implementation of administrative reform for the period 2001 - 2010. On behalf of the leaders of Ministry of Science and Technology, the First Deputy Minister Nguyen Quan awarded Certificate of Merit of the Prime Minister to NOIP. Director General Tran Viet Hung, on behalf of all NOIP’s staff, received the Certificate of Merit and promised to continue striving to further develop the NOIP, making active contribution to the course of industrialization and modernization as well as the sustainable development of the country. /.
